Hays at four is an interesting take.  Certainly like it more than the BP list.

I’d probably mirror their top six.   After that I have some reservations, but their choices are defensible.

I understand that point of view.   A good three weeks doesn’t completely outweigh a disappointing offensive season in AAA.    I’d put him at 4 for two reasons.

1.   I always liked the guy, so I’m biased to believe the offense we saw approximates what we’ll see.

2.   More importantly, I now peg him as a guy who can play a solid CF, as opposed to a guy who is just a solid corner OF who can play CF in a pinch.   Not a gold glover, but solid.

9 of 10 overlap with OH, with minor differences in the order.   The only difference in Akin (OH #12) instead of Lowther (OH # 8).    Not really a radical departure.

But he looked like a legit 2-way player - arguably the only 1 on the O's MLB roster.  Reimold was a legit... DH.

I think it’s too soon to put that knock on him.    Hopefully he stays healthy this year and dispels this notion.

Does anyone else find it weird that Hays is ranked ahead of Mountcastle on the BA Orioles prospect list, but Mountcastle is in the BA Top 100 (88) and Hays is not?

It's almost as if prospect rankings are subjective and somewhat arbitrary!
