Dennis Sarfate from the Miguel Tejada trade (where as Kam was in the Bedard trade) is practically a NPB Hall of Famer with a 1.57 career ERA and 234 saves over 8 seasons. That would be good for 41st all time if he was in the Majors, and 15 fewer than Aroldis Chapman.

In this video, he throws about 50 pitches. All are 4S fastballs. One resulted in the player making contact. I remembered him having a big arm.

Japan plays with a smaller ball, which probably makes a huge difference. I was watching the video of the Duente Heath forkball earlier this week; holy moly.

Offensively, he really just had a subpar year in the power department.   His BA and OBP were in their normal ranges.   Honestly, it was a down year but nothing that extreme compared to the yearly fluctuations most players experience.    His OPS was 43 points below his career average.    That’s nothing, really.

The thing I find most interesting about Adam so far is that his sprint speed is 0.3 ft/sec faster than last year and his home to first times are 0.1 seconds faster.    That strikes me as something he probably accomplished through better conditioning and training compared to the last few offseasons.

Mike Yastrzemski called up by the Giants.

I hope he’s awesome.   That’ll give wildcard something to talk about.

Giants LF’s have a collective OPS of .437.    If Li’l Yaz can post a .600 OPS, he’s ahead of the game.
