Colton Cowser 2022

Cowser has 10 K's in 21 AB's which is abnormally high.  But he also has 4 walks in 5 games and 4 xbase hits of his 7 hits which is also a high percentage.   Good chance he's going through an adjustment trying to generate more power.    This is the time to make that adjustment.

Sure, but will we only hear from you if the HS players turn out to be better than their college counterparts?

In all seriousness, I liked the last 2 picks more than most and I like the position player strategy overall.  I just preferred the higher upside options.  Hopefully the college guys end up the better players.

I’m personally very interested to follow Witt/Veen/Lawlar vs Adley/Kjerstad/Cowser.

I'm not tbh. Major league drafts are pretty much hit or miss. If the Orioles get solid MLB players, they did a good job.

While I don't disagree that the Draft is hit or miss, when you're drafting in the Top-5 consistently, you better score on more of those picks than you lose on. There's a difference between the MLB draft being a crapshoot, and picking 1-1 or 1-2.

I hadn’t realized that Lawlar was healthy and playing, following his torn labrum last summer.   I’m glad to hear he’s recovered and playing well.

It’s going to take years before we know how Elias’ draft strategy worked out.  So, I’m just going to sit back and relax.

It's hard to find fault w/ Elias' position player picks.  I probably would have preferred Lawler because an elite SS prospect is something the O's lack.

Witt is hitting .107 now.  Obviously small sample size, but if Adley was hitting .107, people would be jumping all over him.

Completely true.   However, just like it wouldn’t worry me much with Adley, I’m sure Witt will do fine.   He has to adjust to the level of competition, and eventually he will.

Cowser hit his first homer today for Aberdeen. Unfortubately Greensboro is one of the handful of teams that does not have video broadcasts of their games.

So Aberdeen does not have the worst TV coverage in all the minor leagues?  Good to know.

But they do have the worse broadcast. Greensboro is pretty pitiful obviously for not providing anything, but there is no reason for Aberdeen not to have an announcer, pitch counts, and a few different angles.

As for Cowser, he did strike out once while also walking once. I still won't be concerned until May if his K rate doesn't fall.
