My guess is the career numbers of both players are being weighted more heavily than the results thus far this season.

Maybe it's due mainly to Mountcastle's illness (any updates?), but they are in fact starting O'Hearn at first base today, vs. a RH-starter. Yesterday, playing Santander there meant starting McKenna in RF. Today it means DH-ing with Lester. Still in trial period, for sure, before the hard decisions once Mullins is ready to return.

What do you mean? We have a RHP today and O'Hearn is LH. That appears to be what they are doing. Mountcastle sat yesterday vs RHP because of an illness.

OHearn has definitely gotten more opportunities. Too early to say whether it is a full platoon but it is at least heading in that direction. OHearn is outperforming his track record so he needs to convince us he is better vs RHP before he is handed the job. He deserves more looks for sure and is in the lineup today.

I don't think anything has to happen tomorrow. It would be nice, but what makes tomorrow any different than the last week?

It doesn't appear that they are planning to replace Frazier nor Mateo for that matter. 1B appears to be where we need a player. Can Westburg man 1B? Otherwise, I don't see a spot for him right now. I guess he could DH and move Santander to 1B?

Cowser is a different story, I hope it's just a matter of waiting for "full health". 

I don't expect both at the same time though. Our lineup is not really in the best of shape right now, I don't think we can afford to carry 2 acclimating rookies along with the dead weight of Mateo and Mountcastle.

We don’t need a first baseman. That can be a rotational position with Santander, O’Hearn and others.

Cowser and Westburg could both be added to the roster in exchange for Lester and McKenna.

On the pitching side of things, I'm enthusiastic about the Veteran duo of McCann and Gibson working together. The game I remember seeing of them together, they seemed to play very good together.

What makes tomorrow different than last week is Cowser has now been back from injury for over a week. Has played full games as they said they wanted him to. Not sure what else there could be unless he's hurt again (not in lineup today)

I can envision a place for Cowser to play everyday. I don't see where that is going to come from for Westburg. They are not going to bench Frazier unfortunately. We already have 4 infielders for 3 spots. Even if you want Gunnar to take SS from Mateo. That's Gunnar at one spot, Frazier at one spot, and Urias at the other. If they bring up Westburg, he's going to get infrequent ABs.

If Frazier sits against lefties and Urias or Mateo sits against righties, Westburg would be able to play everyday.

Frazier puts up a .729 OPS against RHP and .624 OPS against LHP.  I agree there is plenty of room for lineup maneuvering to create enough at bats for Westburg. Gunnar is the only infielder I'm interested in seeing play everyday right now.

Frazier, Mateo and Urias aren't so valuable that they can't get the occasional day off to make room for Westburg and/or Ortiz. Plus Mateo is quickly headed towards a career as a defensive specialist/utility player and pinch runner.
