Bautista and the Orioles hit a lottery ticket with this guy.  The amount of guys his age who had a long career of not hitting the strike zone just "finding" it at age  28 is pretty damn rare.   Its a credit to Bautista and the Orioles to stick with it.

I'm happy for the win, but a good manager has someone up with Bautista in case it becomes a non save situation. Waste of the closer here. Poor bullpen management.

Hopefully the O's bats are strong the next few games and we don't find ourselves in a save situation.

The biggest boost to the Orioles win total this season might be playing a balanced schedule that isn't AL East heavy.

Akin was up.  I think Hyde wanted to give Bautista work since he was rested and already warm.

He got Akin up about midway through the bottom of the 8th but chose not to use him.  Guessing he wanted a 5 run lead.

Bautista had warmed up and gotten ready, I don't have a problem with it.

I agree it's a strong possibility given the relative weakness of the AL Central and AL West. Top to bottom there are no easy series when facing AL East teams.
