I think they know we needed a boost for this series, and he was available.  Ultimately, it’s looking like we’ll to get Robertson and Raley from the Mets. Wish we had another year of Fuji. I think a full offseason with us would really help. And it’ll be his second season in the USA.

Was watching the Rays broadcast of today's game (Sunday, no Fuji), and they were talking about how Siri looked visibly upset that he was walked by Wells because he wanted a pitch to hit on 3-1. The book on Siri is out, but apparently Fuji didn't read it when he threw a four seamer just off the middle to the first batter on 0-0. Then he comes out the next day and literally can't find the strike zone at all for multiple batters.

I don't know enough about Fuji to conclude anything definitively, but given the stuff everyone says he has, it seems like the issue is his approach/gameplan. Wonder how much the coaching staff can really do about that in-season when he can only communicate through a translator.

I think it’s reasonable to think if he’s good and wants to stay…. No reason he can’t if he isn’t asking for a ton or money

I’d say that was a dominant inning and I don’t even approve of what looked like two sliders.   Keep pumping the fastball and then either high fastball or split.   He blew Realmuto away.  No chance.
