Sure they could.  They traded for Fujinami and his WHIP is 1.621. 

 

 

 

BTW I'm not down on Fuji, I just think it's early to suggest extending him.

I’m a believer if they think that can make him dominant. If they move on I won’t be upset.

I'm not opposed to looking into the option depending on how he plays the rest of the season.

But right now it's too early.

Whatever the Orioles do or don't do at the trade deadline, I hope they don't mortgage their future. Don't break up something that is becoming special to bring in some big-name over-the-hill player.

Did I say anyone had an issue with the trade?   Try reading what I actually wrote.   That is a great under the radar move to get an arm like Fujinami for very little in return.   Simple.
