Still getting comfortable at second, but has had some violent contact at the plate since call up.  62% HH believe I read.

Overall Barrel % and Hard Hit % is already near elite even factoring his initial first stint. Average Exit Velocity is pretty good too even with his poor start weakly grounding out every at bat.

I’ve been big on Holliday the last couple of years.  I continue to be impressed.  The kid is unreal.  Talk about a trade deadline add-on.

No one can touch Mayo, Holliday, Eflin, Rogers, Soto, Dominguez, et al.

The team Has improved substantially.

I would bet that if you said a few weeks ago that the Os would turn over that many players that many people would have called that unrealistic and very unlikely.

Now, the Westburg injury wasn’t known but even without that, we have a big roster turnover

That and Cowser has gotten back on track to the degree he's batting lead off and pulling it off. Losing Westburg is a major blow, but if Holliday hits like this the offense will stay on track.

If only Westburg didn't get HBP breaking his hand this offense could be lethal one through nine with the one posible exception of Mullins (who at least brings good defense to CF).

Pretty wild.  It feels like the beginning of a new season.

I think FO sees it as the beginning of their 2024 team.  The last few months were the final transition.

Lift off.

It’s pretty wild we still have the return of Westburg + Kjerstad as lineup upgrades for post season.

He's essentially locked into every day abs now, right? with mateo and westberg out and holliday hitting, no reason to sit him hardly ever?

Even with everyone healthy there’s no reason to sit him.

One thing I’ve definitely noticed since the most recent call-up is that Holliday’s swing is noticeably flatter.  That allows him to drive pitches near the top of the zone in a way he wasn’t earlier this year.   And, now that he’s had some success, you can see his confidence rising.

I don’t like his habit of catching pop-ups down by his torso.  He dropped one today but also did it a couple of other times.  That’s a bad technique.

Why do people feel the need to pick fights with other posters?

Didn’t intend to pick a fight. But given how staunch OOO was in his beliefs about Holliday and in his ability to be right first, I wanted to know if he had begun to change his mind.
