On the bright side he’s given up really weak contact with an xBA of just .162. But he’s not getting many whiffs and isn’t throwing enough strikes.

The game isn’t over but no shot they should split this series after the first two games. Toronto is not good but the offense has been awful the last two games. Toronto has the second worst xwOBA and the 5th worst wOBA in the league and meanwhile the O’s have scored 2 runs in the last 14 innings and none in the last 12. If you’re looking for a reason the Orioles are falling behind NYY it’s the fact they aren’t taking advantage against bad teams. 19-13 against teams below .500. NYY is 25-10. CLE is 23-12. PHI is 40-17.

Hard to argue with any of this.

To be fair, he probably feels the pressure even more to be perfect since he knows his offense is trash today vs an at best average pitcher.

He looks exactly like he has in AAA. So many non-competitive pitches out of the zone.

Exactly. This is what is so frustrating. The Twins were playing really well and above .500 but have totally wet the bed vs NYY this week. The Blow Jays are BELOW .500 and the best we can do against them is a likely split after winning the 1st 2 games. That is why we are slipping further behind 1st place.

95 ain't much these days.  His fastball is in the 75th percentile on statcast.  His fastball run value is smack in the middle at 51%.

And here we are, not being able to touch him.  Freaking unbelievable.

75th percentile is comfortably above average; he's not exactly Jamie Moyer. I share the frustration though.
