I'm confused, unless you meant someone else. How did Rick Elder become a Bowie hero if he never played above Delmarva in the Orioles system?

We talked about him in Bowie like he was the 2nd coming of Cal, everyone was so excited to see him...and he never came. Just a case of people picking that one guy to get all hyped about, and then it doesn't work out. You'll see a lot of that if you look around now too.

Yeah, he was plucked in the rule 5 I think . . . then vanished.
