I'm excited to see him come back and help impact the team.

I don't expect much (or for very long) from Brian, but Flaherty and his band of merry men have set the bar so low...

Of course, the irony would be if Flaherty caught fire and his home run tonight was just the beginning of a massive hitting streak. Then what does DD do next week when Brian is ready?

I think Flaherty is feeling his back against the wall a little bit...

Yeah I am sure the reason Flaherty is hitting better is because Roberts is coming back. I guess he didn't notice going down to Norfolk for batting poorly and didn't notice his .160 average until he heard Roberts is coming back.

Mario Mendoza himself played for eight years hitting around .200 (he of the term Mendoza Line). So Ryan Flaherty who seems to be a Showalter favorite may likely have a lengthy career hitting close to .200.

I'm trying to figure out if you're seriously comparing Flaherty to Mendoza... Flaherty just did in one 3-game series (hitting three homers) what it took Mendoza until his 8th year in the bigs to do. Mendoza was also a below-average fielder, while Flaherty's fielding at .991 so far this year, better than the league average. At this point I'd rather have him in there against most pitchers, at least until he proves that this series was a fluke. Otherwise, let him swing that hot bat.
