It's hard to imagine that the 4-6 unsuccessful Tanaka suitors won't pursue, and gobble up, Garza, Arroyo, Jimenez and Santana in the next week or so.

A lot of NYY fans are advocating that they sign another starter.

It's looking like we'll be down to Burnett or someone pretty close to the bottom of the SP dumpster.

That brings the Yankees new offseason commitments over $450M.

Which is about what they spent the last time they missed the playoffs.

Tanaka could turn out to be great, but you never know. For $22 mm/yr, you'd expect him to be one of the top 5-6 pitchers in the league.

The Cubs and White Sox won't be in on any of those starters. Tanaka was a special case.

Garza, Jimenez, and Santana were always going to get too much coin for the O's. I think there's a very good shot at either Arroyo or Burnett.
