Sandberg got his pitcher out before he could fall further behind. Buck allowed Norris to face Howard as the go-ahead run in the sixth, when he could have done a double switch (Reimold for Snider as the position player switch, perhaps.) Can't expect Bud to win a 1-0 game. Sure, the O's offense was inept with RISP today, and Manny failed in the sac fly situation, but we had the 1-0 lead, and we should have gone with our best option to keep it.

And throwing Howard a fastball instead of an offspeed pitch was moronic, but that's on Caleb.

Sure but I still go breaking ball there. Howard missed one earlier in the AB by a foot. He was set up for it.

I bet that every pitcher gets away with 3-4 bad pitches a game. I'm not going to stress about it. Budd pitched good enough to win.

Can't just take a pitcher out who's doing well in the sixth inning every day just on the basis that he could implode. This bullpen has been taxed enough lately.

Bottom line, you score only 1 run, you deserve to lose.
