Did Sandberg outmanage Buck?

Sandberg got his pitcher out before he could fall further behind. Buck allowed Norris to face Howard as the go-ahead run in the sixth, when he could have done a double switch (Reimold for Snider as the position player switch, perhaps.) Can't expect Bud to win a 1-0 game. Sure, the O's offense was inept with RISP today, and Manny failed in the sac fly situation, but we had the 1-0 lead, and we should have gone with our best option to keep it.

And throwing Howard a fastball instead of an offspeed pitch was moronic, but that's on Caleb.

How is that on Caleb? Bud threw the pitch.

He wasn't outmanaged per se' date=' but sometimes I would like to see Buck go more off of his starter's "stuff" that day, and less off of pitch count.[/quote']To be fair Bud's command was looking sharper as the game wore on. I still hate him though. He always struggles in the 6th, the third time through the lineup.

Joseph set up for the high fastball which Howard has had trouble catching up to this season. Instead it ended up on a tee due to Norris poor location.

This. No management issue. Hitting issue. Pitching issue.
