Miller isn't like Chapman, they don't have to move him so I believe they'll stick to their guns of asking for the moon.

Than he won't get traded.

Still means they won't end up with a big return for him.

I don't think we have anybody old and expensive enough that the Yankees would want. The closest we have is Hardy but he's only 33 and only makes 12m. The Yankees wouldn't be interested in anyone that inexperienced and cheap. If we could swing a 3 way deal with the Angels to get Pujols - then flip Pujols to the Yankees for Miller - that might get it done.

I'd also like to take a second during this post to reiterate my position that Brian Cashman is the worst GM in baseball and we should thank our lucky stars each and every day for the early part of his career that allowed him to stay GM for life for the Yankees apparently. If they had someone good there our lives would be infinitely more difficult.

I basically agree with you about the Cubs, but to say its not even remotely close is hyperbole. The Cubs dont even have the best record in the game. Currently the Rangers and Giants are better, and Id probably have to rate the Giants overall starting pitching, Madbum, Cueto, Zamardzija, and Peavey as slightly better than the Cubs.And by the way, Id be thrilled to death to face the Cubs in the World Series. That would mean WE won the A.L.. I still dont see THAT happening,but I can dream.

While I'd love to see Miller back in orange/black, I've gotta think that if DD wanted him at $9 mil/year he would've made him that offer two years ago. To do so now, and have to give up a prized farmhand, would be admitting a mistake, and paying dearly for it.

IMO, I think DD knew he had some decisions to make and having to blow up the budget, and I suspect he made a decent offer to Miller, but Miller also wanted a longer deal, 3 years vs 2 years, and wanted to be closer.

If he kept Miller, then maybe O'Day wouldn't be here now?

With the bullpen as horrific as it has been, I'm not sure it would be that interesting. Lately no one but Rondon and Strop can get anyone out.

IMO, I think DD knew he had some decisions to make and having to blow up the budget, and I suspect he made a decent offer to Miller, but Miller also wanted a longer deal, 3 years vs 2 years, and wanted to be closer.
