I'm not giving up.  But I'm highly skeptical of his ability to succeed as a major league starting pitcher.

It's 21 outings when you consider his time at Aberdeen where he was old for the league, but put up just league average numbers.  If he was a year or two younger I would feel more optimistic but he's 22 and can't get A ball hitters out. 

So he's going to be 22 going on 23 and repeating Frederick next year?  Hard to get excited about that.

He had an EXTREMELY rough night.

Didn't get out of the 4th. 3.2 IP, 11 hits, 5 runs (all earned), 2 walks, 3 strikes outs, 1 home run. Had 91 pitches in that time (!!!) and 57 were strikes. He exited after loading the bases.

Very, VERY rough.

I'm not saying he can't get better.  I'm not saying I give up on him as a prospect.   But right now, he sucks.

Looks like people caught on.  Not sure, but it's a cause for concern.  Someone drafted that high out of a college shouldn't have these issues.

Though he's doing very poorly, it's still premature to say that he's a complete miss.    But you putting the worst spin possible on him certainly isn't unusual.
