The daily topic of Davis is the exact reason I don’t think the Orioles let this thing linger on for long. 

What kind of reception does he get Opening Day? If Davis turns it around the Comeback player of the year award should be renamed in his honor.

Cal only hit into 10 double plays in 1988.  A few years earlier he hit into 34.  It is hard to hit into double plays when you have Billy RIpken and his .260 OBP hitting in front of you.  Or Gerhart and his .256 OBP.  Compare that to Eddie Murray's 20 GDP in 1988 as he had Cal and his .372 OBP in front of him.
