He has a commitment,  it would be 2 years

Apparently the Rays see the new market inefficiency as big beefy dudes.

Kiley had him 94th, mentioning he grades down high school 1B who don't play the summer.    I figure the Rays saw him like Jim Thome in the spring.

I was curious about who Houston would take.  This kid Drew Gilbert sounds like a game-changer.  Will be someone I keep an eye on for sure, and being a college guy, might be seeing a lot of him soon.

Rays don't make a lot of mistakes, but no way this is a guy I'm taking at this point. They must be using some cash savings here.

Not a lot of speed for a center fielder. Sounds like a gamer for sure, but looking at his numbers he doesn't bring a lot of upside for a 1st round pick.

Yeah, but he was projected top 10 (6th in a lot of places he was ranked, I think?), so that wouldn't have been a problem or the reason he dropped out of the top 10, no?

Reggie Crawford.  That was my pick for 33.   Giants get him at 30.

There definitely some pitching that dropped.  We should be able to get either college guy who should move up quickly or a guy with high upside.
