It's Thanksgiving 2024. The Orioles just won the World Series for the first time in 41 years. Celebratory threads dominated the front page for a month. Joy abounds. All Hangouters put aside their differences and rejoiced as one. 

But the winter meetings are next week. John Means is a free agent, there's a spot to fill in the rotation, and eyes are turning to the future. One question begins to emerge, an ancient rumbling from the deep finally echoes up to the front page once more...  Cease vs everyone else.

If the entire group stays healthy, then I think another starter is closer to nice-to-have than need-to-have. Injuries would quickly change the equation, of course. As I said, there are for sure moves that could be made to maximize this team's potential, but they're contenders as is.

I agree. But that’s a big “if”. Pitchers are known to be fragile.

Yup, but I we don’t know how this sale will work, and I wouldn’t count on JA donating 8-12 million from his pocket for us to sign one of Clevenger, Lorenzen, or Ryu.
