Without looking at splits, I was impressed by Suarez's determination, in a recent pregame interview, to be a starter. He signed here for that opportunity and has done well to seize it and run with it. A shame to mess with what's working. I guess the majority of pitchers (e.g., Wells and Hall) would say they prefer starting. The Orioles gave Hall his chance--elsewhere--and Wells may be destined for the pen now due to durability issues. But for now I'd favor keeping Suarez in the rotation as long as he's having success there. -

🙄 You say this like he was running the talk show circuit doing this. He was asked 1 question on 1 show and folks here put their own inference on what he said because they like to drum up BS. Everyone thought he was ready. -
Yep. To do that, though, they pretty much would have had to have decided before Sunday's game in KC, because right afterwards the team flew from KC to California, and there would be no sense in Holliday making that flight and then flying to Norfolk. And someone (travelling secretary) would have to arrange a flight from KC to Norfolk for Holliday. So those wheels would have had to go into motion Saturday night at the latest, and maybe they weren't ready to pull the trigger that soon. Making a guy fly by himself from KC to Norfolk while the rest of the team celebrates a win and flies in the other direciton can't be fun. I remember when a lot of people felt it was classless that the Mets fired manager Willie Randolph in the middle of a West Coast trip. -

Some of the precise timing here too I think is to give Urias and Mateo the repetitions before Yankees.
