Think of him as Cionel Perez but with a changeup. Oh, and he's much taller so that fastball can play up even more than Cionel's at times. -

That is a ludicrous take. At the AAA level, Zimmermann has a 4.28 ERA and averages 9.0 K/9. Povich (including last year) has a 3.59 ERA and 11.4 K/9. And he appears to be taking a giant leap this year. Also, one should never confuse raw fastball velocity with “stuff.” It’s unrealistic to expect a big jump in velocity for Povich, but his stuff is just fine, thank you. As for Povich helping the Orioles in 2024, we’ll see. Right now, most things are clicking for the O’s starters and even with GRod on the IL we have 6 guys for 5 slots. Then there’s Wells, who will be back at some point. So, I’d agree that Povich’s debut isn’t imminent despite his AAA success. But he’s an enticing prospect, and no Zimmermann 2.0.

It’s not 20 innings. It’s five years. Your argument is a straw man. FWIW, I wouldn’t have made the miller trade back then either, but Dan did a lot of things that made no sense. This move would make sense. Mike won’t do it because he’s confident he can muddle through with what he’s got or can rummage from the waiver wire, unless Fujinama is available again. But it’s a fascinating question, and if we had Miller, we’d have Rivera, and he was Money for years. -
If Mayo can play a decent 3B and mash, Westburg can play 2B and I’ll worry about Holliday later. -
The biggest difference is that Mateo's month represented a hot 30 after 261 MLB games of mostly bad hitting. (I still fell for it.) -

I don't see Holliday getting much play vs a lefties this season just like Gunnar didn't last year especially with his overall struggles earlier in the year they will ease him in this season for the most part. I expect he starts vs right handers and sits vs most lefties.
