84% of the outs that Ynoa recorded (16 out of 19) came via the Groundout and the Strikeout.

He was incredibly pitch-efficient, and his Strikes-to-Balls ratio was also exemplary.

I still think he profiles well as an opener or long relief option for next year.  Next year's bullpen?

Givens (if not traded)

Fry

Armstrong

Castro

Tate

Harvey

Ynoa

Tanner Scott?

Honestly I think Tate and Scott at least are big “maybe” and I’m not so sure about Ynoa and Fry. I think 3-4 spots are best called TBA/Waiver pickups. Even though we don’t know what happens ‘tween now and then, it’s likely we’ll have either proven better or possibly better by then.

Ynoa is really an enigma to me.    He’s had a lot of really good outings this year, and has kept us in a lot of games.    But when he’s bad, he’s really bad.  He’s allowed 60 ER this year, and 31 of those were in 5 appearances.    Overall I think he’s a pretty useful piece for a team that suffers a lot of short starts and needs a guy who can throw long relief and spot start.

When she was good, she was very good indeed ........ but when she was bad, she was horrid.

I remember seeing this movie when I was in 9th grade, and Nicole Eggert and her mother (Cheryl Ladd) using the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow adage at the beginning of the film.

So you're saying he's inconsistent.
