Like the whistle.   The light show is a bit over the top for my taste.

I was always a tradition, old school, by the book guy, but I also loved flare and enthusiasm.  It can be infectious.  Now I look at the kids and try to view it from their perspective.  My 10 yo & 7 yo were on the edge of their seat.  It’s entertainment at the end if the day.  With all that said, you still have to respect the game and put it all on the line when the lights turn on.

Yeah. This will become a thing for sure when they fill the park.

Well, after today, they are gone for a week.  They have a day game on Thursday vs the Cubs.  But if they are still winning, that weekend series vs Boston could be pretty amazing.

It’s gonna feel silly when he’s going through a rough stretch and he had just blown a couple saves in a row and we’re not all so confident he’s gonna be lights out. It’s cool when he’s doing well though

That's always the risk with a big intro. But whenever he's struggling, you just bring the stadium lights back up to half strength after the light show and have the batters squinting a bit to see the ball. Maybe quietly release some dry ice while the lights are down too. "Baltimore fog, what are you going to do?"  😉

I love it.

Always loved Trevor Hoffman’s

What’s the music after the whistle? Can’t tell.

It’s hard to really tell in that video with the fans cheering but it sounds like O Fortuna.

    • Unless one of Cowser, Heston or Stowers wakes up one morning as a RHed batter or switch hitter, I don't think the veteran OFs are going anywhere. Urias and Mateo are a different story. One of them should go tp clear a roster spot. For me, Urias is an easy choice to be the one sent packing, whether with nothing in return or a lottery-ticket pitching prospect who throws hard (or two), but I understand that others disagree. And maybe they're both gone. One of the unknowables about this team is whether Jackson Holliday can be a useful part of it later this season.
    • The Orioles always seem to give a guy the day off after his first day back post-injury. They've done that with a lot of guys on the ML team, and I suspect they are just treating Holliday very carefully.
    • Wow its finally here. I've been looking for this since January thanks for posting.
    • We REALLY need to get Suarez out of this rotation. It's been fun, but he's hitting a wall and really should be a reliever. Kremer soon, I guess.
    • Yeah it would, then the question is . What is their definition of “ off the rails “ ?  Either way, we get the answer within 30 days
    • You totally negate your argument to keep him when you say you don't think he would return anyone that would make it worthwhile. I think Mountcastle is a good clubhouse guy and has been a very solid player.  I was happy that the Orioles moved Mancini to Houston to make room for Mountcastle.  A similar move here could be beneficial.   The situations are not identical.  Mancini was a pending free agent and even though the Orioles were in the hunt of a playoff, they were not considered a contender.  So moving Mancini brought us back useful pieces AND allowed Mountcastle to step in. IF the Orioles move Mountcastle, they need to get SP or RP to help now, right?  It would be pretty ballsy to trade him for minor league pitching depth only.  I think Kjerstad or Mayo could outhit him the rest of the way, but I just don't think you move him unless it is for pitching that can help now. And to your point, I think Mountcastle could return pitching help.  Absolutely.
    • There are times I forget that Ryan Mountcastle is only 27-years-old and we have 2.5 years of control remaining.  It seems like he should be close to 29-30.
