Kimbrel, Cano*, Wells*, Webb, Baumann

Coloumbe, Perez, Irvin

AAA - Tate*, Baker*, Vespi*, Akin*

* = 2024 option 

I think that’s how we start the year. We keep everyone. Baumann and Webb get the first cracks to hold down the #4 and #5 RH RP spots. Baumann could be DFA’d quick or even traded at the end of ST. Baumann has a better chance than we think to clear waivers. Teams like their guys a little more after ST and Baumann is out of options. 

I don’t know how long Baumann sticks around for. We might prefer to have the #5 RH RP spot for rotating in a fresh arm amongst Baker, Tate, Heasley, and McDermott at some point.

How “good” would the player need to be to be better than Baker and Tate?  Plus, the optionable spot value. Even a guy like Scott Barlow  isn’t so clear cut likely to to outperform Baker/Tate in 2024.

I would like Tate, Baumann, Irvin, but I think it will be Webb, Baumann, Irvin due to Tate having options.

This.  It's either this, or may be Baumann over Webb if Baumann has a really good spring.

RIght now it's Webb, Tate, and Irvin. Baumann flipped at the end of ST. 

That could change instantaneously, but right now that's how things look on paper IMO. The option does hurt Tate, but if he's dominant in ST, I don't think they hesitate to put him on the team.

As much as it's talked about here, I can't remember if Irvin has an option. If so, he could be in AAA as a starter in case of an injury or ineffectiveness.

You might be right …. But I don’t see how they don’t have Tate in the pen if he’s healthy. I chose Baumann, Tate, and Webb

Yep, that's why all three of them will make it barring a meltdown this spring or injury.

Tate has two options as well. I think he starts in Norfolk barring an injury. they are not DFAing a guy if they don't have to.
