Tomorrow's playoff ticket presale

I've got to disagree with you here. Why would they regret allowing the customers that stuck with this team and supported it the most from having the best access to playoff tickets? If I was the Orioles, I don't know if I'd be particularly concerned that all the people that haven't ponied up the cash in the past get good access to tickets. It's just good business to reward the most loyal customers when demand is high.

I'm not a season ticket holder because I live about 4 hours away but I do agree with this. I have no problem with season ticket holders getting first dibbs on the tickets, it's rewarding the loyal. I just hope there are some decent spots left for some of us that live out of state.

We all had 13 game plans. The e-mail I got as a 13 ticket plan says "YOUR 2012 WILD CARD AND AL DIVISION SERIES TICKET PRESALE OPPORTUNITY STARTS TODAY AT 10 A.M.". Something seems fishy.

The 13 game plan holders from this year got a package that included champ series and world series tickets. It seems that that wasn't an offer made to new 13 game holders. Not sure which you are.

edit: I see this has been clarified, too slow on my part...

It occurred to me that no Eutaw Street bleachers or SRO tickets were available in the pre-sale yesterday, presumably because such tickets are not sold as part of any season packages. I assume these will be the most available options in the public sale on Saturday.

SRO would make sense, but Eutaw St would surprise me. I personally would have loved to get tickets there and would be surprised if they held all of them back.

Right. And I'm not trying to say that the general public are bandwagoners or not real fans or anything like that. But there's no reason for the Orioles to value customers who have not spent as much money on the team over those that have for years.

I had my presale at 2:00 PM today for buying a 13 game package for 2013. The best seats I was able to do were terrace box (section 13) for the Wild Card Game and terrace infield box (section 53) for the ALDS Game 1. There is a ridiculous $9.00 per ticket surcharge for each ticket. I originally found some tickets on the interactive screen in the Field Box 6 rows back, but got booted out and was not able to find them again.

Tickets were not even available for Eutaw Street Bleechers or Left Field Box. I am not sure where they all went, but thought that Terrace Box would be gone before them. Plenty of upper box and club level tickets left though. I snagged two additional lower reserve tickets (section 9/back rows) for reach game that I plan to sell to hopefully make back some of the money that I spent on the tickets I am using. I anticipate that there will be a good amount of tickets available for the public sale on Saturday, but I don't expect them to last past that.

All I can say is that when I went on yesterday at 2:00, there were tickets available in every section, except for any of the bleachers.

Just curious, inside the ticket master link, was there a way to bypass the pop up indicating it was switching to best available for seat allocation? It was better when I could scan and see the available seats which I was able to do for a couple of the games.

I tried several times and it was basically random when the seat selector would pop up. I got some tickets with their random method (that I think stinks) and the true pick your seat.

Try to log in again. Just as I suspected, by waiting around a little bit and trying again, I was able to get to the screen allowing me to view seats. I just went in and found two on the aisle and already sold the other two to a friend.

Re: season ticket holders having first priority - hey, I totally agree that they should get preference and capability of tickets before everyone. I just think that, if there aren't enough left for the regular fan who isn't interested in season tickets, can't afford them, whatever - it's a missed opportunity for the team to win over some people, and yet another way to tick off a fairly disgruntled fanbase.

I'm happy, I got the tickets I want, but I'm just thinking of my friends who are champing at the bit and waiting for Saturday. I'm afraid they won't be able to get tickets, and I feel bad for them.

I think they did that random way because so many people were browsing and they can't really refresh the seat map while you are looking. For game 3 when I was able to select my self, I picked two tickets that were claimed before I could click accept. The difference is that when you get the assigned ones, they are pulled from the inventory before anyone else can get them.

I just discovered that you CAN view the available seats even if you have already ordered or don't have a password. Go here: http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/bal/ticketing/postseason_presale.jsp?loc=deposits&partnerId=ed- and click on one of the games. Then you'll see the seatmap pop up and it is greyed out. However if you click on a section to zoom in, you'll be able to see available seats that have what looks like a little padlock on them. If there are no seats available, you'll see the seat being greyed out.

Hope that helps you all see what availability looks like!

Does anyone want to give out their pre-sale password? :):)

Doesn't work. It's one time use only for four tickets. Once you've purchased your allotted four if you go back to try the password, it gives you an error message saying it is not valid. So you'd only be able to use somebody else's unique password if they didn't use it.

    • My takeaway is about payroll and all the suffering we've endured.   Mike, Sig, and Eve have the best plan, even when you have deep pockets, which we might now.   My other take away is closers are still undervalued, I remember what it felt like when Britton pitched in 2016 and last year (and hopefully next year) with Bautista.   In other words, Shorten the game, and don't sign huge long term contacts that will ultimately force you to play guys who are ready for the broadcast booth.
    • The Reds have come a long way from the Marge Schott days.  I miss colorful owners.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marge_Schott
    • OK folks, first month in the books and I had the itch to take a peek at stats through May 2 of the last two years respectively.   Well it’s startling! 2023 Mateo: 76AB 6HR 18 RBI 10SB 6BB 14K .338/384/.636/1.020 2024 Cowser: 83AB 6HR 18RBI 3SB 9BB 33K .277/.351/.578/.929 And of course as Jim Palmer responded to Kevin Brown “he (Cowser) needs to hit the cutoff man!”.   When Hays returns do the cow costumes start showing up at Goodwill?  I guess there is talk of a “cow pasture” section at the May 12 Toronto game.  Will Cowser be above .250 in 10 days?   I appreciate Cowser as a player and seems like an excellent teammate and person but I’m afraid the hype maybe getting in front of the train.  (inadvertent reference to cow catcher on a train).
    • I agree, I watched every game, and the Yankees look downright weak. Rodon is one of the most overpriced/overrated pitchers in baseball. Stanton might be the slowest person in professional sports and he swings at garbage. Judge hasn't been the same since he injured his toe. Rizzo is bleh. I am not scared of them whatsoever.  As far as us, I feel way more confident about our starting pitching, particularly with Bradish looking strong. Kremer might end up having a great year. Our bullpen too. And damn do we have some hitters.  I feel damn good about our chances at winning the division.
    • Roch: Austin Hays grabbed his spikes yesterday and walked out of the Orioles’ clubhouse. He had another box to check. Hays ran the bases for the first time since landing on the 10-day injured list on April 22 with a strained left calf muscle. He sprinted from third to home and wasn’t favoring the leg. That was only part of his workout. The Orioles didn’t schedule batting practice but they arranged for Hays to take some swings on the field. It was significant ramping of baseball activities after Hays had run the last two days, hit in the indoor cage and threw. “Everything’s been going good,” he said. “I’ve been up to 90 percent of my game speed, so getting really close. Just got to check a couple more boxes, but everything we’ve done so far, there have been no setbacks, nothing negative. I think we’re getting really close.” Hays could use an uninterrupted stretch of games. A stomach virus in spring training shed about 10 pounds from his frame, and he experienced a different illness in Pittsburgh. He went 4-for-29 down in Florida and is 5-for-45 this season with no extra base hits. Before heading out to the field, Hays said he didn’t know whether he’d go on an injury rehab assignment to get some at-bats. “We’re still trying to decide that, like, ‘OK, if you’re good in the next couple days, where are we going to be at?’” he said. “We’ll see once I check off all the sprinting boxes, baserunning, hitting. Just see what we decide.” Manager Brandon Hyde sounded yesterday like he expected Hays to join an affiliate. “Hopefully he can start doing some minor league games here pretty soon,” Hyde said.
    • you're replying to my post without reading it. Again where does mayo play on this 26. So who goes of the roster (Urias) You're going to have Mayo play 3B over Urias? This administration loves defense. Did you watch the Yankee series?
    • Yeah it makes you think again before considering swapping a high-end talent like Basallo for a top closer like Miller. When you can plug in a DFA guy like Webb or Coulombe or Perez, or groom a wild flamethrower like Bautista from the farm. Just throw strikes.
