I admit I was a little nervous with just a one-run lead going into the 9th, recalling how Britton hadn't been quite as lights-out lately (his WHIP was nearly double in Sept what in was in July/Aug). But that evaporated quickly, once he got ahead of Perez, I figured he was ON. And he was, big-time. I think our relievers are feeding off the "Let's show Detroit what a REAL bullpen looks like" mentality. Looks like everyone is back to mid-season form (with the possible exception of O'Day).

(vs. ROYALS, 10/10) O[A.L.C.S., Game Two]

Horrible game.

Walked the first 3 batters that he faced.

At one point, Britton threw 12 consecutive balls.

Thanks to an outstanding scoop by catcher Nick Hundley on a force play at home plate, Britton somehow managed to leave the game unscored upon.

Darren O'Day came in to finish off the Royals by inducing an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded.
