If Buck can sit him on the bench for 12 days then use him for 3 he would prefer that to missing him for 15 days.

Very true and that would be the preferred route but with our roster crunch those three days could actually help us in the long run. I just want to see AJ completely healthy when he comes back and would roll the dice on those three days if it helps accomplish that. I admire the hell out of him but if he's saying he can't even swing a bat I just don't see how he will be ready for Friday.

Plus, his presence on the lineup card as a reserve could make an opposing manager think twice before bringing in a lefty.

Very true. Didn't think of that. I completely agree until AJ came out yesterday and said this...

?I don?t think I?ll go on the DL,? Jones said. ?I don?t like the DL. But can?t play, it?s uncomfortable.?

Unless that's posturing I would think the other team wouldn't have to worry about it, at least for the Boston Series.

I can understand it. Would an extra player really play at all? So many roster moves for pitching and the extra OF I can see why they want to keep him off the 15 day DL if he will be back sooner.
