Right, but they made the wrong decision (as Buck is prone to do in these situations) so now we have to deal with the fallout.

Yes but we could quickly fix it. DL Tillman ASAP. Bring up Givens. No 10 day rule because of injury. Let Tillman throw an inning or two in Bowie or one of our MILB home teams to make sure he is ready to come back. Call up Wilson when we need a starter. Send down Lake or Flaherty and go with a short bench and keep Givens up. Or send down Mac. Tons of options. The worst thing would be if Tillman isn't ready and we throw him out there and then he has to go on the DL. Just let him get healthy. Wilson in Seattle is a pretty good matchup for us.

Not disagreeing.

But the problem is Buck/Dan doesn't see to like to DL the "core guys" unless they absolutely have to.

Well that didn't take long, did it?

Could be argued that playing with essentially a six man bullpen (Buck will never go to Garcia in a crucial situation if he can avoid it) cost us today.

A lot of people defending this move earlier in the week, a lot of people. The bad news, is this could be the first of a number of games where Garcia on the roster directly or indirectly costs us a ball game.

Send Lake down and go with an 8 man pen. Play Wieters every day whether it is DH or not. Not like we are getting any offense with Reimold, Lough or Flaherty anyway.

The sad thing is, there were probably three or four different moves they could have made to avoid this situation including cutting ties with Garcia altogether.

Not like we have a bench bat that worries the other manager. If they want to keep Garcia bring another arm in and then as soon as possible bring Givens back.

This team is a Rule V pick junkie. They need an intervention. They just can't help themselves. Penny wise and pound foolish if you ask me. Flash was a decent Rule V guy since they weren't really expecting to be good in 2012; the last three guys have not been good.

o

Mychal Givens is in Seattle, and expected to join the Orioles bullpen tonight.

He was optioned 4 days ago, so he must replace player going on the DL.

    • That's good.  Will give him something to do while he heals.
    • Huh? He's on pace to start under 100 games at Catcher.
    • Keith Law has him going late 1st round and doesn’t sound like a fan.   26. New York Yankees: Christian Moore, 2B, Tennessee Moore has probably performed his way into the first round, even though the underlying tools and instincts don’t support it. He’s hit 23 homers and has a .380/.446/.774 line (through Monday) as part of the Vols’ loaded lineup, where five hitters already have 15 or more homers. I could also see them on Ryan Waldschmidt or Jordan. Baseball America’s most recent mock had him going 19.  Some reservations about his defense. 19. Mets — Christian Moore, 2B, Tennessee Moore’s offensive consistency in his three years with Tennessee is impressive. He’s posted a 1.000 OPS or better in each season, has hit over .300 in each season and has managed double-digit homers in each season—with a career-best 28 homers in 2024. He did that while cutting his strikeout rate from 24-25% to 14.5%. There are real questions with how much he’ll be able to pick it at second base. Still, he has one of the more proven bats in the class and is getting tons of top-20 buzz.
    • I know we as fans put extra weight on this Yankee series but the pitching matchups tell you it's not of much if any extra importance to either club. Both are locks for the playoffs, playing an extra two or three games in a wild card series is not going to matter much. You have to win in the playoffs regardless.
    • I believe it's his non-bowling hand.
    • Do we really need Adley to play Catcher every game ?  What’s wrong with putting McCann at catcher ?  Is it because he can’t hit like Adley can ?  I would split Adley between catcher and DH , so we don’t wear him down
    • Cowser needs PAs & experience.  He’s a stud.  He needs to play everyday with an occasional rest day.
