As an aside, I just noticed that Henderson is currently #1 above Rutschman and Rodriguez. I'm not sure I could put him above Rutschman considering what he's doing right now, but...I heard an interesting thing (second hand) from a well known former Orioles official who said that Henderson would end up better than Rutschman.

It was just two people talking, so take it for what it's worth, but it's pretty crazy how much of an impression he's made this year.

To me it's going to be tough for Adley to really be in that top echelon of offensive players as a catcher. I think he could be the top offensive catcher as early as next year, for sure. If people are thinking of Henderson a like a Machado-lite guy, then yeah, that kind of player has a chance to be better than Adley.

Notes: Think of these rankings like an unofficial prospect rankings that will be adjusted throughout the year. To be eligible for the rankings, a player must still be considered a rookie by MLB standards and assigned to a minor league team. Players placed on injured lists are eligible once they have played in 2022. Rankings will be updated every Monday. Rankings will be expanded to 50 when FCL and DSL seasons open up.

It's a 4th of July treat for everyone! :D

New Power rankings with Rutschman and Bradish (More than 45 days on roster) graduating. Some old new faces back on the prospect list but honestly after about 22 there is not really a player jumping out.

Added Anderson De Los Santos back on the watch along with DSL stand out Aron Estrada.

Tough to even nitpick but here it goes.   Gillaspie looks like a pretty run-of-the-mill reliever to me.   He's in the top 30 but Frederick Bencosme, a 19 year old INF who's hitting .355 after 84 PA with Delmarva is not.   Bencosme has 7 walks to 8 strikeouts so his bat to ball skills are excellent.   He showed a little power in the DSL last year.   Not so much at Delmarva.   I think his bat-to-ball skills alone put him in the top 30.    If he starts showing any pop at all, we'll be talking higher than just top 30.

I need to see a little bit of pop from Benscome before getting too high on him. He's doing well though and is on the cusp. Gillaspie is a run of the mill middle relieve type and is really on the list because a lack of other options at this point.

If you wanna put him over Gillaspie I'd be fine with that. Honestly after 22 the list is pretty much an "ehh".

I will say if Benscome keeps hitting .355 he's going to go on.

18 year old Lefty pitcher Deivy Cruz has gone from the DSL in '21, to a cup of coffee in the FCL in June, to Delmarva.

I think his bonus in Jan 21 was on or about $200, 000.

He is only 5'11" but he seems to be a strikeout pitcher.

Good info, thanks.   That’s a pretty aggressive move.

I wonder if that’s in part due to the lack of pitching in Delmarva.

The Orioles have been very aggressive from the start with Rangel, Chace, and Delosantos all starting the year there.  Now we have Cruz, Portes, Alcantara, and Padilla.

I saw that and I've been following him a bit. I need to pull up one of his outings and hope it gives me a center field camera.

Updated as of 7/17. Remember, new draftees are not eligible on the power rankings until they make their professional debut.

Holliday I would presume will debut fairly high, but will be curious to see where the next highest ranked draft pick is
