Grayson Rodriguez 2022

He pitched well all things considered.  Delay to start game - looked like wet field contributed to some bad D.   Didn’t have his A stuff.  Wasn’t getting ahead like he normally does. Lot of players on Gwinnett with MLB experience.   Martin didn’t make two plays (tough plays but make-able), Jones turned a double play ball into a fielders choice,  a bloop and a couple balls hit hard.   He came back and battled the rest of the game and had moments of domination.  Definitely not as bad as the stat line looks.  Couple of high stress innings and good ABs lead to higher pitch count.   Not what you hope to see but it’s not like it’s some type of set back and AAA hitters figured him out.

Assuming 5 days rest on Monday is the first one that can be ruled out, it'll be interesting to see if they let him have another crack at Gwinnett Sunday, or hold him a full week (plus half a day, assuming a normal Tuesday gametime next week) before Turn5.

I kind of feel like Gwinnett dinging him a little...if the calendar isn't completely pre-scripted, maybe they give him another crack at Pat Valaika and company at the end of the week.

I'll be hoping for Monday, but take the Bradish first reports at face value, and Bradish is currently listed for tomorrow, when Acuna returns to the Gwinnett lineup.

Honestly, it’s good for him to experience a little adversity and have to battle, rather than never getting challenged.
