Shucky darn I hope that'll mean he has to be one of those All-Stars "unavailable".

Workload wise around the All-Star break, 2nd half opens in Texas and we'll see if the club uses the opportunity to pitch Grayson and Burnes in four consecutive team games inching towards the trade deadline.

That's $45 mill/yr. I would be surprised is he gets that.  Probably closer to $300 mill over 8 years.

You’re correct, the 45 mill is excessive but it’s the market today . The 8 yrs 300 mill might be a bridge too far. But only Mr Rubenstein can decide that choice .  IMO , 8 years is bad risk for pitchers, position player star like Gunnar is a safer bet for 8 years or more

That would only be an extra $75 mill for 3 years.  For a pitcher like Burnes, I would take that risk (or would Rubenstein take that risk since it's his money).

Sometimes, it just feels like he’s toying with the other team. He’s really an excellent pitcher. 

He had 19 whiffs last night. He made a comment that he used to chase K's and now when he knows a team is aggressive he's trying to induce contact for quick outs to pitch longer into games. He clearly has swing-and-miss stuff when he needs it. Gonna miss him next season.
