Adam Jones- Where are the homeruns?

How much of Jones' WAR is affected by negative defensive value?

Although he does not steal much, Jones provides good value on the basepath's through taking extra bases.

And although a good, but not great hitter, Jones plays every day.

If one were to believe that Jones was a neutral defender, he likely jumps into the top 10 OFs.

Actually BBRef is rating him as a plus on defense this season (UZR still hates him).

I've watched enough of Jones to conclude that he's an above average center fielder all things considered. I know UZR hates him and normally BBref has him below average, but when you add his his total game, including a plus throwing arm, I think he's slightly above average defensively.

Other than the 2 head scratching drops early in the season, he's been great out there. Not elite but not anywhere close to where you think "Man, he really should move to a corner".

There were hits to CF practically every game at the beginning of the year that Jones looked bad on. But he has since recovered his range/focus. And looks adequate.

.

2 more round-trippers last night gives Jones 22 for the season, with 58 games left to play.

His total gone up every year since we acquired him, save for between 2009 and 2010, when he broke even (19 each season.)

2008: 19

2009: 19

2010: 19

2011: 25

2012: 32

2013: 30 *

* 139 games into the season.

# 30 today.

23 games left to play. He needs 2 to tie last year's total, and 3 to surpass it, which would continue the upward trend since he came here in 2008.

10 games left to play. In the 151st game of the season last night, Jones tied last year's total, and equaled his career-high. He needs one more round-tripper to surpass last year's total, and continue the upward trend since he came here in 2008.

Jones is currently in 12th place in Orioles franchise history in homers with 136, just ahead of Nick Markakis and Paul Blair, just behind Gus Triandos and Chris Hoiles. If he averages 25 homers a year through his contract in 2018 he'll be seven behind Brooks, who sits in 4th place with 268. He could potentially catch Frank Robinson (179) as early as next year.

Also, is that Orioles team history dating back to 1954, or franchise history, dating back to 1901 (the Brewers in 1901, the Browns 1902-1953, the Orioles 1954-Present) ???

I noticed that Ken Williams hit 185 home runs for the Browns between 1919 and 1927.

The Browns are not the Orioles.
