They'd have to play almost perfect baseball for the rest of the season and rattle off 40 wins in 57 games to be on the pace the O's are on now (90/91 wins). That's .700 ball for the next two months. If they play .700 ball for two months and hope for some losses. So 7 wins every 10 games. That's what they need.

On the other hand, Yankees and Toronto need to play between .604 (TOR) and .620 (Yankees) to get 90 wins.

O's need to go 36-26 or .558 for rest of the reason to get 90 wins.

If they lose 5 of 7 from TB they won't win 90, and the MFY could catch them. We can take series from TOR and the MFY, but TB is a problem in that regard.

It is *not* the Yankers. They'll finish below .500. Their rotation sucks, even with the addition of McCarthy (who is in store for a rude awakening pitching in AL East ballparks).

He has a 55% GB rate. If anything, it's the Yankee infield defense that is going to give him a rude awakening.

They broke out the whoopin' stick on Boston tonight. 14-1 and counting.
Yes BOS. Sooner or later they will have to play some good teams. Get through the next 6 G and the toughest team we play after that are the Rays. Bring on the MFY and The BJ's.

The same exact score last week, when the Red Sox pounded the Blue Jays up in Canada.

Embarrassing each other on the opposition's home field.

o

80 strikes.

28 balls.

YU DARVISH O (vs. YANKEES, 7/28)

IP:. 7

H:o 9 (2 Home Runs, 1 Double, 6 Singles)

R:O 2

BB: 1

SO: 8

Pitches: 108 (80 Strikes, 28 Balls)

2014 ERA: 2.90

There was a 1% chance of rain in Arlington, TX tonight, but the Rangers weren't taking any chances.

They scored their 4 runs (and took the lead) in the 5th inning, so even if the Yankee grounds-crew were there (and if it were raining), it wouldn't have helped the New Yorkers tonight.
