More likely to hurt yourself than anyone else with a dull pitchfork.  You get to stabbing and you have to press too hard to get good penetration and Boom, you throw your back out.

I’m taking notes, go on...

As I said, first thing is you want sharp tines, between three and five is standard.  Now if you don't pitchfork often you are going to want to get a pair of gloves, you don't want splinters or blisters forming.

Now ordinarily you are going to have a bit of a stooped posture when you are pitchforking but if you are pitchforking as part of a mob you want to use more of an upright stance.  You want to make sure you are on the outskirts of the mob so you are unlikely to accidentally puncture a fellow mob member.  Remember the middle of the mob is for the torch throwers.

You lower body is where you are going to generate your power, you pitchfork with just your upper body and your stamina is going to be shot.  Use your hips and stay fluid.  Speaking of fluids, mobs are hot, particularly in the summer in Baltimore so stay hydrated out there.

Master, I am not worthy.

Any luck finding that quote you attributed to me?  The trash one?  I asked folks to help you out.

I never quoted you. I'm simply saying that I've seen you criticize when they don't sign players, when they do sign players (signed a bunch this year despite the trades), when they trade the slots, when they don't trade the slots...

You've covered your bases pretty well this year.

OK, find me where I criticized the signings they made.

Didn't happen.  I want them to do more, I'm certainly not going to be upset with them for signing guys.

You post insinuated that I called low dollar signings trash and was instead calling for them to sign high dollar players.

That is untrue.  I want them to add as much talent as possible.  Low end, middle, high end, I want them to spend all they can spend given the constraints in place.

Just going to add this here instead of starting another thread.

According to ETtoday, the Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly agreed to terms with 21-year-old Taiwanese right-hander 鄭浩均 (Cheng Hao-Chun), pending physical.

While Cheng’s agency declined to comments, the signing bonus is said to be $200,000 USD plus an additional $20,000 for educational expenses.

Count me in the clear minority that would rather have 21 lottery tickets than PedroA - though like many here I will give our FO a pass.

The point that was not contested is that some folks appear to have assumed the Os had 21 prospects lined up for $750k and chose PedroA instead.  I, instead, would assume we have signed pretty much everyone that we wanted to sign and that we didn't have 21 prospects lined up to sign like the ChiCubs did.

I concur.   I haven’t studied the Cubs’ situation enough to understand how they found themselves in the position of needing/wanting to sign 21 guys in the last 3 months of the signing period.    Nor do I plan to study it.  We signed 24 players since trading the slots we used to get Araujo.  Should we have signed 45 instead?

Yup. All we can do is speculate on what the O's and/or Cubs are thinking. We certainly are not going to get every single good international player. Elias has stated that he doesn't plan on trading away slots going forward. If that's true, it's a signal that he intends to spend most of our allotment as his program matures. If he does that, this discussion is over.

    • It’s O’s and Yanks. Good guys versus bad guys. Baby Birds up against the Evil Empire — and another trip to the post-season is in the cards. I’ve been cheering for the O’s and very specifically against the Yanks going on six decades, and I’m getting good at it. So, yeah. I’m fired up. Now ask me about hopes and dreams. I don’t think this Orioles team is going to make a run to WS this year.  They have scuffled, they have failed — but I’m reminded, even in the platinum age of data — baseball is still a game of failure.  And man, runners in scoring position over the last week, I’m not sure I want to know that number. They’re still my guys. As long as they’re in it, so am I.
    • Let's go Tampa! Actually, I'm fired up for the offseason.
    • Not fired up, per se, but engaged in the ramp-up to playoff baseball. On one hand, it's like the spring training phase of gearing up for playoffs. On the other hand, it's like the playoffs have already begun. We're qualified for round 1, which consists of the next 6 games. Even watching the other teams play now is entertaining, as they jostle for entry to the next round.
    • I really think that Westburg is the difference maker for us. I don't know why, but the offense just doesn't run right without him... like an engine that needs a tune up. I'm glad he's back with a week to go in the regular season.
    • Don't be too hard on yourself OP. We've all been there. For me, I usually hit a frustration point mid-late season and then start to just accept things. Baseball is a very weird, very inscrutable game sometimes. I've driven myself a bit nuts this season with the Adley thing because it's one of those baseball things that just doesn't make a lot of sense. Same with the pitching injuries.  Each season is a little narrative. This one will be the year we had a bunch of injuries, the year of the RISP regression, the year of the rookie struggles, the year of the questionable Elias trades, the year we couldn't follow up on the 100-win season, etc. And yet - it will be a playoff year. And that's the only goal of every regular season: make the playoffs. Hopefully our playoff narrative will change this time around.
    • I’m fired up for sure. We are finally full strength offensively and this stretch of games will be a great way for this team to gel down the stretch. The AL East is still attainable so let’s kick ass from here and see where we land!
    • Westburg is back. Everything is fine now. Enjoy the championship run.
