They open at home at 6.35 vs Charlotte.

The starting pitcher is TBD according to the Tides website.   TBD has been good in the past and we hope he is good tonight.

Several players like Nevin and Martin are still  with the O's in ST so here is a guess at the opening lineup.   The real one will be posted later.

(L) Vavra  CF,   (R) Jones 2B,  (L) Stowers RF,  (R) Diaz LF, (L) Neustrom DH,  (R) Bannon 3B, (L) Dorrian 1B,  (R) Grenier SS, (S) Cumberland C

A lot of lefties plus Cumberland as a switch-hitter.   Charlotte's starter McClure is a right-hander.

I'd like to see Vavra get as many reps at 2B as possible.  That seems like a more likely position for him to find playing time in the majors.  Jones is not a priority play for me but I rather see him in the OF if he's going to be in the lineup.

You may be right on that.  I have no insight on who is at 2B or CF.  Just guessing.

The Orioles know how to get their fans excitement going on opening day of their minor league season. The probably want to keep Rodriguez back in extended to get some miracle spring training regimen instead of pitching him again competition.

This organization really could care less about their fans.

Smith does  not make me want to tune in as much as if it was Grayson.

The Orioles have no understanding about generating excitement from their fans.

Hell, after 22 years, they've cut me off from having credentials so they really could less about this site or the diehards that make it up.

I think Grayson is going Friday. Maybe they figured more fans would attend that game instead of a Tuesday.

I don't think for a second that the Orioles do anything with fans in mind. Probably some computer program spit out the dates in which Rodriguez' most likely innings would be maximized and Friday popped out.

I guess in the end it doesn't matter but as a fan it has become increasingly obvious that the Orioles regime under Elias does not care about the fans experience at any level. How much you wanna guess their affiliates other than Norfolk will even have a center field camera?

That’s bullshit. You’d think they’d be happy anyone still wanted to cover this crap major league roster

    • That's good.  Will give him something to do while he heals.
    • Huh? He's on pace to start under 100 games at Catcher.
    • Keith Law has him going late 1st round and doesn’t sound like a fan.   26. New York Yankees: Christian Moore, 2B, Tennessee Moore has probably performed his way into the first round, even though the underlying tools and instincts don’t support it. He’s hit 23 homers and has a .380/.446/.774 line (through Monday) as part of the Vols’ loaded lineup, where five hitters already have 15 or more homers. I could also see them on Ryan Waldschmidt or Jordan. Baseball America’s most recent mock had him going 19.  Some reservations about his defense. 19. Mets — Christian Moore, 2B, Tennessee Moore’s offensive consistency in his three years with Tennessee is impressive. He’s posted a 1.000 OPS or better in each season, has hit over .300 in each season and has managed double-digit homers in each season—with a career-best 28 homers in 2024. He did that while cutting his strikeout rate from 24-25% to 14.5%. There are real questions with how much he’ll be able to pick it at second base. Still, he has one of the more proven bats in the class and is getting tons of top-20 buzz.
    • I know we as fans put extra weight on this Yankee series but the pitching matchups tell you it's not of much if any extra importance to either club. Both are locks for the playoffs, playing an extra two or three games in a wild card series is not going to matter much. You have to win in the playoffs regardless.
    • I believe it's his non-bowling hand.
    • Do we really need Adley to play Catcher every game ?  What’s wrong with putting McCann at catcher ?  Is it because he can’t hit like Adley can ?  I would split Adley between catcher and DH , so we don’t wear him down
    • Cowser needs PAs & experience.  He’s a stud.  He needs to play everyday with an occasional rest day.
