With Soto and Judge, the Yankees would have a AAA lineup. Looking forward to when Judge's toe starts bothering him. -
The Yankees have great pitching to date. With the exception of two players they aren't exactly the scariest lineup on earth and shouldn't be elevated to the '27 Yankees status. -
Based on how the Skanks rotation had been going, Poteet, Cortes, and Gil were lined up. They took advantage of the off day and moved Cortes up a day and will be inserting Cole. 2 weeks ago when Hyde went to a 6 man rotation he could have made some tweaks, but didn't. No, it's not the end of the world if we lose 2 of 3 or get swept, but every win against them counts. Like I said, hope the offense is ready to score a lot of runs. -

Where do you see Gil? ESPN has Cortes. I would much rather the O's face Cortes although he has handled the O's well than "Cy Younger" Gil. -
This is correct, people will act like the outcome of this series is going to determine the fate of the division or whatever and that's silly.

Here's the clip. First, Ian gives some funny quips about how to raise or lower your WAR, but then talks about thinking about his defensive metrics and how he could improve the values. The producer, Tom, also brings up Trevor Plouffe altering his positioning later in his career to grade better. Later, at about 31:00, starts talking about players choosing positioning to improve his WAR pre-arbitration. When I re-listen to it, I hear him saying that playing back further to prevent XBH might let singles drop, not being reluctant to dive. And this isn't really too far off from what some of us would consider good/better outfield defense. But the whole discussion from where I've got it starting here through about 34:00 I found really fascinating.
