On the broadcast, Elias said they didn’t intentionally take pitching this year, it’s just how the board fell.

Interesting that he talked about how they on purposely take pitchers on day 3 because he feel the later round pitchers can be more successful because they have certain traits.  
 

He also said it was hard to take HS players with their bonus pool. And he was clear to point out that picking higher means a higher pool but basically because of the higher pick.

So few guys accomplish anything in the majors after the first few rounds that I don't have an issue with using the middle and especially the latter rounds on organizational needs.  At some point you need pitchers in A ball.
