Expectations of Jack Flaherty

Flaherty has been a massive disappointment since he came up big with a great performance in Toronto. He's pushed back starts, been ;largely ineffective , and seems a bit lost. How many of you think he can pitch well tonight? I say he'll give up at least 4 runs and not make 5 innings...It would be a major accomplishment if he did much better than that..we need him to come up big...I dont know if he can. Maybe he's hurt or has a tired arm..but he hasn't been good at all..

Honestly, who knows with Baseball? He's just as likely to go to 7 innings of 1 run ball. There is no guarantee that Grayson will go more than 4 innings and 5 runs tomorrow. The only way to find out is to wait and see what we get.

Very low expectations.   Seems to still trying to figure thinsg out, may not be responding well to Os analytics feedback.

I’m hopeful, but not optimistic.  

There’s going to be a ton of energy in the stadium tonight, with the sellout crowd and the Adam Jones ceremony to amp people up.  Hopefully that will pump up Flaherty like he was in his Orioles’ debut.  It would be a big boost for the team if he pitches well.

Jack’s two Camden starts so far were his two other respectable ones outside of the debut. 

5 IP 3 R, 5.2 IP 3 R.

13 H and 11:3 K:BB in those combined.

He’s due for a nice outing. He may not be good but he’s not as bad as he’s shown since coming here.

I expect an average start at best, say 5 innings, 4 runs given up.  I just don't have much faith in him right now.

Jack Flaherty is the poster boy for how inapt the 2023 Orioles are at pitching. All these contenders have great pitching. I hope he proves me wrong, but let's be real.

Bracing for the worst and hoping for a surprise good outing. Flaherty doesn’t have a bad arm, but it isn’t translating into him being a quality pitcher.

Flaherty has to be DFA'd at this point. He's been awful and puts our bullpen at risk.

Terrible decision by Hyde and Elias to start him in such an important game.
