A few details on Bauer’s performance in the Japan Central League.  It’s a six team league.  Among 26 pitchers who threw 100 innings (in roughly 139 games), Bauer was 13th in ERA, 15th in WHIP, 2nd in K/9.   Basically, he was a middle of the rotation starter.

Ryu is the best fit. Lefties play up at OPACY. Check out his game logs below. He’ll keep us in a lot of games.

Haven't seen this posted yet - seems like Ryu is considering heading back to S. Korea's KBO league.

Wondered if that might be the case. There has been absolutely zero buzz on him this offseason. Wonder if teams know he wants to go back to Korea.

Changing my vote.  Bauer (aside from all of the off the field baggage) pitched only ok in the Japanese league but wasn't totally dominant....    Changing my vote to Blake Snell!  Who is also a pipe dream....

For what he’s being offered by the Korean team, he be a decent reliever/swingman type. I like him as #5 insurance. Let him compete with Irvin.

I would go after Montgomery if I were the O's.  He is a lefty, has pitched in the AL East, and also signs with no draft pick compensation.

If he wants to return to Korea, you probably have to offer him a decent amount more than that $12M total to get him to stay in MLB.

Best possible move they could make, but it seems unlikely. 

I'm hoping we can at least land Lorenzen.

Maybe he's still not fully healthy?

I think there's a better chance Mike Elias comes down the orange carpet in a tutu on Opening Day than the Orioles signing Montgomery.

I love the idea of Montgomery on this team.   He and Burnes would be a great 1/2 punch at the top of the rotation.
