I will not be surprised if Kimbrel is released at some point

Nah, he's still a guy who can strike out guys. He's the guy you want to put in when the bullpen is short and you absolute have a situation where you need a strikeout. Other than that he needs to be in low leverage.

You don’t throw a guy two days in a row if you can avoid it. My vote is for letting Suarez finish the inning.

Hyde should have known as soon as he brought in Perez, Cash would bring in a pinch hitter and nullify the move.

So Hyde took out a guy who was crusing and still 14 pitches under his limit, brought in a guy who wasn’t throwing well and tired to boot, in an attempt to benefit from a matchup that everyone except Hyde himself knew wasn’t going to happen.

I would have left him in. That said you were down 2 guys today and he wasn’t going 8. He has been backing off Kimbrel. Unfortunately circumstances dictated somebody.

Is that where we are now?  Two days in a row is too taxing.  LOL

Apparently it was. But maybe it’s just that Cionel is pitching lousy right now. Which do you prefer?

Do you want Hyde to bring Cionel in because he doesn’t think he’s lousy, or because he doesn’t think he’s tired? Or because he thinks he’s the best choice?

They were all wrong, so it doesn’t matter

I'm going to go ahead and blame the bullpen coaches somewhat here too. They've got to see what we do in the pen with the lack of control and velocity. I guess we just have nobody else to throw out there. I'd rather almost anyone than Kimbrel though. I never like losing.....losing because you walk everyone and allow guys to run all over you is even more difficult.

Suarez max pitches thrown was 97 (he also threw 96 and 95 once each).  He finished at 94 today. I’d say pretty clear that Os view ~95 as cut off point for Big Al.
