How Does Terry Crowley Continue To Fly Under the Radar?

And to go along with this and Stotle's post...the Orioles don't seem to put a premium on OBP and patient guys...Look at who they have signed over the years...Whether it be AM or other GMs...Payton, Wiggy, Atkins, Miggy, etc...These are not patient guys and never have been.

So, to be fair to Crow, that has to be mentioned as well.

Oh definitely. And the players that they had in their system who had good OBP never got a chance...guys like Cust, Terrero, House, Knott, etc. while players like Brandon Fahey did.

And before that it was Jim Presley.   Crowley hasn’t been the hitting coach since 2010.

But it's the tone he set. Everyone knows that the echos of a hitting coach's influence can last decades.  Every time Adam Jones comes up he sees an Obi Wan ghost of Crowley telling him to swing at the first slider 6" off the plate he sees.

Still not bad as Yankees when they failed 99.9% chance of winning on Sunday with the bases loaded and no out.

Not a 99.9% chance of winning by any stretch.    75% per the BB-ref box score.   https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYA/NYA201804080.shtml.    Still, your point stands.   All teams fail at this sometimes.
