Orioles magic number to clinch a playoff spot is down to 10 games!!!! The Orioles have become so relevant and interest on this board has grown considerably this past year, that this was on the 4th thread page after only 1 day. I am loving the interest on everything Orioles. I will be going through withdrawl tonight with no Orioles baseball. They deserve a night off after playing "3 games" in 2 days. Hoping to be able to root on a Blue Jays win tonight!!

Magic number to get at least a wild card spot: 9

Any combination of 9 Oriole wins and Angel losses (assuming there are at least 8 Oriole wins + TB losses) and we are in.

Bottom line: we go 9-4, even if the Angels finish 13-0, we make the playoffs.

It's almost close enough to taste it.

(And yes, I want the division title too).

9-4 is reasonable: BOS 2-1 TOR 3-1, BOS 2-1, TB 2-1.

While it's true the magic number is 9, with so many teams in the mix, the odds that one of them gets really hot are reasonably good, so we'd still better assume it will take 7-8 wins to put the wild card to bed. Either Tampa or Detroit could still win 92 games, the Angels 93. Detroit has a very easy schedule from here on out and could go on a run.
