2015 Nelson Cruz tracker thread

I'd be happier if we stuck to the substance of the arguments rather than debating whether MSK is a good poster. What it boils down to is there's no way to prove or disprove what budget the Orioles can afford. So I just accept that the GM has been given a budget and has to stay within it. And therefore, he has to spend his available budget wisely. In that scenario, I don't think 4/$58 mm for Cruz would have been a wise expenditure.

How's the flapjacking coming along?

Me too. Or anyone.

Don't you ever question moderation. You have no idea what happens behind the scenes. How about you worry about the thin line you are walking by making names for supposed groups and thinly veiled references to specific posters. Keep this crap out of the threads.

I didn't question moderation, I asked you a direct question about a very offensive meme. Nowhere did I make a judgement on you or your abilities.

MSK

And you knew exactly which moderated had edited it. But you wanted to make a deal. Stop it.

In nine games we have scored at least five runs seven times. In what universe is our offense craving Nelson Cruz?

Apparently the same one that has fans calling for Hunter and Davis' heads after a couple bad games.

I personally feel not signing Cruz (or Nick for that matter) for 4 years was a great decision by DD and the FO. Yeah he may be worth it now but he won't be in year 4. Maybe not in year 3. Look at the Yankees. They overspent on everyone and now they can't afford to bring in new, better players. Is that really what people want the O's to be like in a few years?

Oops he did it again. He launched his 6th home run of the season, this time against Brett Anderson in the 4th inning of tonight's game against the Dodgers. Yep, that's a home run in five straight games for those keeping track.

Amazing. He is a very good player.

He's just copying what Caleb Joseph did last season.

I wish him the best, he seemed like a good guy when he was here. But it's borderline irresponsible to sign a 35-year-old DH to a large, long-term contract. David Freakin' Ortiz doesn't get four-year deals, he mainly gets one- and two-year contracts, and there's essentially no argument I can think of that makes Cruz as valuable as Ortiz.
