Well, Buchholz didn't really get him to "roll over" it - that phrase usually refers to when a player is out in front of an off-speed pitch and pulls a weak ground ball. He took the pitch the other way, just didn't square up on it.

That was a slider and Machado grounded weakly. I think maybe you are being too fine with the semantics here...

Except he took the next two pitches to run the count full. He shouldn't have swung at the 1-1 pitch, but it wasn't a terrible at-bat.

First things first - your screenname and avatar are hilarious. Secondly, hitting itself is reactionary - Machado isn't seeing the ball too well, so these things happen, but I don' t think he got himself out there.
