Peter Angelos is not cheap.

And if he is cheap, he isn't acting like he is.

I voted for the second choice, I don't think he was a priority but at least we have something. One of the other two would have better imo.

I'm leaning toward not liking it. Manny's extension is going to be more difficult to pull off now. Also it's going to make it difficult to significantly spend elsewhere to improve the team this year and in years to come.

Time will tell. But unless Crush strings together 3 or 4 awesome 6 WAR seasons in a row for us, it's going to feel like an overpay.

You're right, I should have said "A big bat was a priority" not Davis himself. Oh well.

I'm all for spending the money, my feeling is we would have been much better off signing multiple players with 161 million, rather than blowing the entire budget on just Crush.

We still need rotation help and any combination of the current roster leaves us with a horrific outfield.

So far we've spent a lot of money this offseason, but all we did was bring back the same players from a .500 team last season. Plus we lost Chen. I'm wondering where they are going to find the money to improve on the weaknesses?

Unless Crush's contract is coming out of Angelos' personal account and DD still has a budget to improve the SP and OF, I think this is a bad move.

Would have much preferred Cespedes, the comp pick for Davis and money to make more moves.

If he's not going to be cheap then spend the money in all areas. He brought Davis back because he's a favorite of his.
