Wynns hit well enough last year in 118 PAs (as opposed to this year's 14 coming off an injury).

Sisco should prove to be a much better hitter than Wynns, based on his MiL OPS (.811) compared to Wynns (.703) and factoring in the ages of the two players when they were at various levels in the minor leagues.   But, those things don’t always translate.   I’d still put my money on that outcome.

Yes, that is obvious. But what I was implying is that the total package of Wynns (defense and hitting) still makes it unclear whether Sisco, at this point in his development, would be an improvement and, even if he were, where it is best to continue to develop his skills as a catcher. I was frequently impressed by Wynns as a catcher last season.

Back to the topic - has Sisco had enough "chances", thus far, both hitting and fielding (what is the magic SSS threshold @Frobby?)  150 PA's/35 G?

Oh believe me, right now I’d rather have Wynns. He’s not hitting but Its early days yet. I’m a much bigger fan of Wynns overall, but Severino isn’t going anywhere, and Wynns is the only person who would go down if Sisco came up. If the Bosses think thats a good move, I’m ok with it.

Serervino has a .642 OPS in the minors and a .602 OPS in the majors.

I’m not going to sweat who is our catcher right now.    I believe Sisco will be the better overall player soon enough because his offensive superiority will outweigh any defensive disadvantages.   Whether that’s this month, two months from now or next year, I don’t know.    I also think it’s very likely that two years from today our starting catcher will be Adley Rutschman, so I’m not too caught up in the Wynns/Sisco debate.

Unless they trade Rutschman,  which is a possibility.

If we take a catcher with the first pick, I wonder if Sisco could play the outfield. Or if he continues to hit at Norfolk, maybe he would bring something in a trade.

Sisco has catcher foot speed.  Not a Mancini situation, where Mancini is actually faster than you would think and can cover some ground in the OF. 

I think first base is where Chance would have to move.  I would try him out at third too if the organization does not believe he is going to be an effective big league catcher.  I believe he played SS in high school.

Sounds like a logical option. He should be playing some there now at Norfolk if that is a possibility.

Hit another home run in Norfolk today.  Number 7.  Looks like the new found power is real.  Whether or not he'll be exposed at the major league level is another question.  

I think this changes the overall outlook for Sisco.  He was always thought to be a guy who would hit 10-15 home runs at the major league level at best.  If he can be a 20 plus home run guy that opens up the possibility of him being a fit at other positions and also makes his relatively high strike out rate more palatable.
