Yankees Need Catching Depth

The Yanks just lost Robinson Chirinos to a fractured wrist. He was brought in as insurance for Sanchez as Sanchez hit .147 last season.  The other back up is Kyle Higashioka who is 31 and a career .186 hitter in 72 career games. I wonder if Elias shops Severino or Sisco to NY?

That's a good one. I don't make that move, but it'll be interesting in a couple years to compare each player's trajectories.

You know, Adley is pretty much the only reason the O's have for trying to be competitive in 2022.  You take him out of the equation and 2023 looks like a better start date.

If the Yankees could stomach Sisco's defense, his bat might play well in Yankees stadium. Then again, the Orioles might want to trot Sisco out as DH this year if Stewart is not healthy or working out and give him one last shot to see if his bat plays and can provide value. He's never going to be be a good defensive catcher but he should bounce around a bit for no other reason than he's a left-handed hitting catcher who can provide some occasional pop.

You are talking about trading the number 2 prospect in baseball, perhaps the best catching prospect in two decades, who is nearly ML ready for a teenager who hasn't taken a pro AB. There isn't a GM in baseball who would trade Adley for Jasson right now. We don't know if Jasson is done growing, can handle high velocity or hit a professional breaking ball.  I'm not going to definitively say Adley will provide more value in his career than Jasson but making that move right now without any data is a fireable offense.

Miguel Andújar is blocked a bit and is coming off injury. Maybe a Sisco for Andujar trade makes sense for both? I'd rather give him a chance at 3B to regain himself as a guy, something that's not going to happen in New York.

So help me out here. You would trade the #2 overall prospect at a position of need for the Orioles for an 18-year old 5-10 Dominican outfielder who has never been challenged against high level pitching yet? 

That seems like an awfully risky proposition. Now Dominguez looks to be very talented, but all Dominican players, regardless of talent and bonus are wild cards with high volatility for production. 

I wouldn't make that trade and it certainly is not a no-brainer as some of you are suggesting.

Do you feel like they would have equal interest in Severino?
