Chicken littles are still trying to figure out how the O's are going to miss the playoffs?

ESPN reflecting Twins down to 27 percent.    Royals and Tigers tied 2 wins clear - KCR has tiebreaker edge on DET for 5th/6th if they match each other's records final 5 games and Minnesota can't catch them.

Astros beat Mariners to clinch the West.

I don’t care much who we play in the wild card round (assuming that we don’t win the East ).   Whoever we play will have played well the final week, and we will need to play at a high level to beat them.  If we play like we are capable of playing, we’ll win.

I wonder if they won’t be able to line up their rotation due to having to battle so hard just to get in. Whoever we play.

Almost certain we’ll host KC or DET for a 3 game set. We should be able to line up the rotation and have everyone rested.

Anything can happen in the playoffs. Who knows, maybe the Orioles flip a switch and make a deep run.

Not sure if we can clinch the #4 seed or not tonight but if we can't and even get within a game doing it tonight, I'd either skip Corbin tomorrow or pitch him juts a few innings type ting.  The rest will not hurt.

If these players just play up to just their averages, we will be fine and will make some noise in the playoffs.

Someone needs to print shirts which I will buy with Ryan O’Hearn’s celebration quote:  “Shit happens #2024Orioles”.   I’ll happily wear it to the first playoff game!!!

Skubal's next scheduled start would be this Sunday against the White Sox, so if that game matters to the Tigers by that point, maybe we would miss out on Skubal again. Not that that helped us the past 2 weekends, of course.

An Orioles win and Tigers loss tonight would clinch the 4 seed.

After last night's events, we now really want the Twins to do well enough to force Skubal/Ragans to pitch again in G162. 

There is an interesting overlap with the fact that we may have nothing to play for in Minnesota this weekend.

Win another game or two in New York and the 4-D chess level of do we want to lose to Minnesota Friday and/or Saturday to increase the probability DET-KCR top of rotation guys have to go comes into play.

But first win another game or two in New York, and then figure out if Trevor Rogers pitches...
