Was searching for something completely different and found this.

Nick-Markakis.jpg

Completely and totally irresponsible as I said in the game thread. Playing with the kiddies. Likely story! And the truth is revealed! An aspiring juggler- eh, balancing frying pan guy....what the heck is he doing?

It's quite clear to me he has no regard for his body and more specifically his neck. I mean would you look at the angle he's creating by doing that?

Sheesh.

And the added pressure on his neck from the weight of the pan. :noidea: I am speechless that Nick would be so irresponsible and do stuff like this. I wouldnt doubt that he is done for his career now and will be in a wheel chair by the end of the month.

Worst part is, that picture was taken just after he left the doctor's office! :D

Listening to Nick talk during the game today, I can't really get a read whether he'll be ready for OD or not. Sounds like he's feeling good, sees the doctor tomorrow, could resume activities later this week but will need to go through a progression before he can play in a game. Nick says he's been doing leg work on the bicycle to stay in shape. Sounds like it will be touch and go whether he's ready for OD, but if not by then, then shortly thereafter.

He also said, it's about being ready for 162, not just OD.

That means if win the division, and sweep the ALDS, ALCS and World Series, we are looking at him to return April 16th against the Rays -- surely after we are off to a 12-0 start. Now, if we were to be a wild card, and then sweep everybody after that, it would be the 17th. Those scenarios give Nick the 162 games that his heart covets.

Just facts, folks. Lot of complicated math went into this formula.

Markakis will speak with spine specialist Dr. Lee Riley later today. Hopes to be cleared for baseball activities next day or 2. #orioles

Well, you certainly can't play 162 games if you miss Opening Day. :D
Unless there is a one game playoff. ;)

You can have games made up that were tied because of rain or whatever. The 2003 Orioles were eliminated from the playoffs in mid-April and played 163 games.

Or did they change that suspended game rule a few years ago and that can't happen any more?
