Bundy continues to feel fine as he returns from ligament-reconstructive surgery on his right elbow last summer. There are no physical issues.

"Everything's great," he said today during a phone interview. "I just have some days when the ball comes out of my hand better than others, and that's to be expected from what I've heard.

"So far, there are no problems. No pain, no soreness. As far as health-wise, I'm perfectly healthy."

Bundy has surrendered 15 hits and walked six batters in his 11 2/3 innings with Frederick. All three starts have come on the road, the last two in Salem.

"Part of it is the competition," he said. "Guys can hit it a little bit better than they can in the New York-Penn League. And it's also my execution of my pitches. Maybe I was executing them better at Aberdeen than here.

"I'm leaving my fastball up and I've got to bury pitches when I need to and I'm not doing that. And I need to work on my times to home plate. People are stealing bases on me. There are just some things I need to work on.

"I haven't pitched in a year and a half. I just need to get back in the swing of things and pitch like I know I have to."

Man I'm loving this thread... everything I've been harping on for years coming out in the same thread.

The O's failed to move Jim Johnson at peak value and got nothing.

they failed to move Wieters and now with the elbow injury stand to get next to nothing.

and coming off a SS/GG they failed to move Hardy and will get much less than they could have 6 months ago.

The O's are facing a scary cliff starting next year.

Meanwhile Boston had 14 first round picks in the last 5 years and many are percolating to the top of their farm system and breaking into the majors.

The Os are in first place and wouldn't be there without Hardy and Norris. I don't understand why you guys keep harping on about some guy who was drafted in the 19th round a year before he was traded and who is only in single A. The trade was made and it's time to move on.

I think the Norris trade was excellent but even if it had turned out poorly you move on. I can imagine if Hader does make it to the bigs one day thy after every bit of success you will remind of us it. Why do you even care what Hader is doing in single A? He isn't an Oriole and it's not like the Astros are going to trade him back.

LOL. Stop it. There were plenty of people who thought it was too much to give up and said so at the time. There were plenty of people who were very high on Josh Hader and who believed it may very well turn out to be a bad trade for the Orioles.

We are in first place in 2014 because of Bud Norris. Not Josh Hader. Not L.J. Hoes. Not a mystery pick.

Guys come on. This winning over the last 3 years has been tough on web brick and his ilk. They can't stand to see this team win. Let them have something.

Goodbye to Bundy for Cliff lee posts on the board and Hello to Bundy for Sale posts.

To bad it won't be...We would be nuts to trade Dylan Bundy posts. Young, controllable, great work ethic and electric stuff. The kid had not pitched in a year and a half after TJ surgery, seems a tad unreasonable to expect his velocity to be 100% and his control/feel to be spot on. He will be just fine. My guess is that within two years people calling for him to be trade bait will feel as dumb as those who called for KG to be trade bait. Just my opinion

    • Now we’re on to Mateo.  Nope.  My turn to ask the question.   If Mayo comes up and is average defensively at 3B and puts up an .800+ OPS at 3B and Westburg continues to hit and plays 2B what do you do with Holliday short term and long term?
    • No, I don't have Holliday penciled into the HOF. I never said that. What I said is that I believe in his talent. I don't think that many people got it wrong in his evaluation.  I also don't believe that Mayo's defense is anywhere close to good enough to be an All-star caliber 3B. But I do believe that is possible (maybe even very for Westburg). I'm not sure that professional sports is a meritocracy. In that the more talent/ability that you have, the more opportunities that you will get. That probably explains why Holliday got the first crack at the Bigs over Norby (and even Mayo to a degree).  Last thing, right now Mateo is performing best at the other INF spot (second best). Do you want him to stay/get more playing time right now?
    • They will be cautious with Holliday now.  I am sure they would hate to have to send him down a second time.  I'm thinking mid-season for Holliday if all goes well in Norfolk.  If he struggles down there, which isn't out of the realm of possibility, it could be delayed further.  Mayo is destroying the ball and should get the call next.  There is a spot for him at third with Westburg moving to second.
    • IMO we will see a move by June 1st for either Holliday or Mayo (maybe both) as the O’s schedule June to all-Star break is tough as nails.
    • I watched The Crow. Heck of a pinch hitter in the Glory Years - delivered big hits fairly often. Probably gets added credit for tenure as hitting coach. That's all I got.
    • Yes - and he is also in that 22-23 age range. My only hesitation with him is that he had a half-season of well below league average offense in 2022 and a full season of slightly below league average offense in 2023.  I think he needs a bit longer run of doing something similar to what he is doing now to totally put 2022-23 in the rear-view mirror, but I don't doubt it could happen, especially considering how young he is.  Four players, that young, with that much talent, all playing the same position and bursting into stardom in such a tight time window is remarkable.
    • Can someone explain Terry Crowley to me? I was too young to watch him play. Is he being inducted as a coach or for longevity with the organization? He had less plate appearances and was a worse overall hitter for the Orioles than Luke Scott. I'm not trying to be a hater, just trying to understand.
