Who’s the next Cruz/Trumbo for the Orioles?

You mean the next guy signed or acquired in a trade who leads the majors in home runs as a pending free agent? That’s probably asking a lot. Maybe Edwin Encarnacion would be kind enough to accept a one-year, team-friendly deal in March and use it as a platform for a bigger contract. Couldn’t hurt to ask. Maybe give him a real parrot to rest on his arm as he circles the bases.

The Orioles had a 6-run top of the third inning today, that took approximately 40 minutes.

Bundy had to be reminded that he's a member of the human race, and that he makes his living playing baseball professionally for a team called the Baltimore Orioles.

Red Sox manager John Farrell implied that Sale “missed his spot.” I’m assuming that he’s referencing a mole on Machado’s knee.

Roch's had a few other good lines lately that I meant to post, but unfortunately I can't remember them now.

Thank you Roch Kubatko, for your Twitter updates.

I just found out that Shorebirds outfielder Jake Ring has been named the Orioles Minor League Players of the Month.

I think he's the next cedric Mullins

Whoa, let's not get ahead of ourselves.  Mullins is a first ballot HOFer, while Ring might just be a perrenial all-star.

Tilly ties El Sid at 12th on W list w 73, Roch adds:

Remember Ponson?  Per Schmuck:

"Let's review the facts: Ponson was a highly talented young pitcher who came up through the Orioles' system and seemed ticketed for stardom. He also was a wild child who loved to party and wore his devil-may-care attitude proudly on his sleeve. The more successful he got, it seemed, the more fun he tried to have after hours and during the offseason, which led to a series of incidents that would eventually persuade the Orioles to terminate his contract.

The most famous instance of his misbehavior was a Christmas Day incident in Aruba that involved an alleged assault on a local judge and led to Ponson's being jailed for 11 days while awaiting disposition of the case. He also had a series of drunken driving incidents, the last of which precipitated the end of his Orioles career while he still had more than one year remaining on his guaranteed contract.
